You know when you are plodding along through life and you are not entirely sure if you are going in the right direction? (Note - in pic - you can look at the pretty foxgloves along the way even though the future looks bleak!)
It can be scarey wondering if you should have made a different decision back along and now you have to live with the consequences?

This happens with walking too!!! Sometimes you have to turn around and go back to a point where you may have made a wrong decision, just to be sure you are going the right way. You can see from the map here that there is a thick line after Bellever village! Yes, we were tight on time and I thought we had gone the right way, but something didn't seem right. Towards the end of the walk tiredness can also kick in so that is when you probably need to to focus more on the map rather than your "instincts"! Luckily my companion was happy to go back a bit (her suggestion!) so we then made a correct turn to get back to the car faster. If we had more time and had carried on we would have found ourselves up Bellever Tor and seen some lovely views anyway - but we can save that for another day.
As you can see by the closed loop, we made it and felt thoroughly accomplished - a good walk on a lovely day. In life it is not always so simple, though we can't turn back the clock, we can re-assess where we are now and change the future path of our lives. Also, we may not be entirely where we want to be, but what a view!!! I hope you understand what I mean! Walking can help free your mind, seeing the beauty of nature and the freedom of being in the big wide yonder helps you focus on what is important. Why not try it?
