Having completed the Hill and Moorland Leader training this week in Snowdonia, I decided to test out some of the things I had learned out on Dartmoor. The weather was fine and no route planned. The challenge today was to walk wherever I fancied and then try to find where I was on the map! The pictures below show my journey - captions describe events as they unfold!
So that was my walk today. It gets tricky when there are bullocks both sides of the river and you have to get down but I managed to slide sneakily behind a mound next to the river. The bullocks watched me as I nimbly negotiated the rest of the rocky area and thankfully strode determined and briskly back to the car. I found all the people playing in the river I crossed at the start of the walk. This is a lovely spot and would be great for a picnic! One to add to the planned events!
